There is no doubt that augmented reality (AR) is one of the technologies set to emerge in the coming years. Companies like Facebook have been working on the development of compatible devices for some time that, on paper, promise to reformulate the use of smart devices and even the way we perceive reality. According to renowned tech analyst and leaker Ming Chi-Kuo, Apple plans to introduce its first augmented reality headsets in spring 2022.
“We expect Apple to launch AR HMD devices in 2Q22 (Q2 2022). The device will provide a transparent video AR experience, so the lens is also needed, and Genius is also a key supplier, “said the expert, according to the MacRumors media.
In principle, Genius Electrical Optical would be the supplier chosen by the Cupertino firm for hardware development. It is also noted that the company will benefit from a series of upcoming virtual reality and augmented reality products from companies such as Facebook, Sony or the apple firm itself.
Be that as it may, Apple’s leap to augmented reality has been rumored for a long time. Just a few months ago ‘Bloomberg’ pointed out that the technology company is developing its first virtual reality headset that, in principle, is expected to present in 2022, and that it will inaugurate a new product category in the most ambitious company, as a precursor of glasses augmented reality.
Apple has already referred to augmented and virtual reality with enthusiasm on several occasions. Last April, in conversation with the ‘New York Times’, the executive director of the company, Tim Cook, was excited about the possibilities offered by this technology in fields such as telephony or health.
