Belad Bont Resort – the first of its kind in Salalah, Oman

Travel

Feel like a VIP at Balad Bunt Resort in Salalah! That’s why you have to stay here when you are in the city.

Can I just say that I definitely had one of the best Middle East trips in Oman? After going to Muscat, the desert and sightseeing in Sur, we went straight to Salalah.

There are many things to see in Oman, and it is clear that my stay in Salalah was not enough. My tour was completed with the hospitality of the Omani people and the amazing customer service of Belad Bont Resort, my house for 3 days and 2 nights in Salalah. Most of my stay at Belad Bont Resort is below!

Things to do in Salalah, Oman

1. Sultan Qaboos Mosque

The second largest mosque in Oman and this one should be seen. Sultan Qaboos Mosque is beautiful and breathtaking! The prayer hall is decorated with marble and covered with a huge Persian carpet. Non-Muslims can visit the mosque every morning (except Fridays). Remember that appropriate clothing must be worn. Hair for women should be worn, not short clothes and shoulders should be covered. Definitely worth a visit!

2. Jumping on the beach!

There are several beaches in Salalah that you must see! If you have a lot of time, you can even spend a day on the beach for a drink after exploring some of the popular attractions. Here are the beaches to visit.

  • Sahel Al-Maghsil – You simply have to see this dream beach, an extremely long white beach about 6 km long, with water like the Caribbean Sea. A very good reason to return to Salalah.
  • Al-Faizaya Beach – Another Caribbean feeling in the Orient. Magnificent nature and clean blue that turns blue and turquoise! To get there, you have to come down from a cliff and find yourself in a pristine and desolate paradise. Highly recommended!
  • Marnev Cave – One of the most visited tourist places in the vicinity of Salalah. The entrance to this attraction is currently impressive. The cliffs and caves are located at the western end of Al-Mughsil Beach.

3. The old town of Sumoram

Sumhuram Old Town is manageable but definitely worth a visit. With a little imagination, one can imagine the strategic importance of antiquity. Overall a spectacular excavation with a great view of the former port. You should also visit the nearby museum.

4. Kunder Land Museum

Between the old and the new prayer hall, there is the frankincense museum and archeological sites. The museum is small but informative and interesting. The excavations are very extensive and not on hot days or preferably in the morning. Here you will not only learn a lot about incense, but also a lot about the history of Oman, which is getting closer through changing exhibitions.

5. See other popular spots in Salalah

A day in Salalah is not really enough because there are so many beautiful places to discover. Here are other popular spots in Salalah that you should not miss!

  • Taqa Castle – A very beautiful preserved castle, in the bedroom there is still a bed of four old shells and you will have a beautiful view of the beach from above. In the yard, a palm tree casts a shadow and a small incense tree is present. The castle was inhabited until 1984.
  • Controversial Earth Gravity – You must experience this! A heavy off-road vehicle, as if pulled by a ghost, climbs a relatively steep mountain without engine power. This point is located between Taqeh and Wadi Darbat, at the beginning of the road leading to Dhofar Plateau.
  • Al-Blaid Archaeological Site – The excavations span a period of about 800 years until Portuguese rule in 1500, which changed trade routes and ended the city. You can see the remains of houses, mosques and barns near the beach and fresh water storage from the valley in the mountains behind.

Accommodation in Salalah, Oman

A luxurious hotel and resort, Belad Bont Resort, is located right in the western part of Salalah. The hotel has 99 rooms that guests can choose from. Rooms (standard, super, super luxury), cottages, and VIP suites. We stayed in one of their huts!

During our 3 days and 2 nights stay and discovering what Salalah has to offer, we managed to stay at Belad Bont Resort, which is also the first of its kind in Salalah!

Accommodation, dining, spa and gym, and customer service are all top notch! My photos are a testament to how satisfied (and happy) I am with everything I experienced at Belad Bont!

In Belad Bont, they have 4 restaurants, a poolside juicer, and a dedicated women’s center, which I think is really great.

  • Mosaic (all day dining)
  • Ottoman Restaurant
  • Riviera Hall
  • Swamp pool deck
  • Yasamin (Lonely Lady Salon)

I enjoyed everything we had, from drinks to appetizers and main dishes. And since Belad Bont has few dining options, it is very difficult to choose a place to eat, but of course, you can always try anything your mouth wants!

Cuddling at the Balad Bont Spa and Club

Staying in Belad Bont also means you need to be petted! Spa and Sports Club This resort is something you should not miss. They have a Yasemeen spa for women where you can find a nail bar, a private indoor swimming pool and a gym designed for women! Yes

You can also spend some time in the sauna to release some bad “energy” from the stress that this world gives us. Haha!

After that, soak yourself in the jacuzzi, oh … can you imagine how relaxing it is? Truly a dream!

My time in Oman is very limited, but everything I heard before about this country was true, it was a lot of fun! That is why, even though I have not yet left the country, I already intend to return! Hope to bring you all here one day.
