Camo doesn’t care if you don’t like her makeup – interview

How does she deal with this criticism and find the confidence to continue doing her makeup so glamorously? Well, nothing can stop Camo from having a good time. “I don’t really care what they think because I don’t really care about them,” she admits. “Well, it’s whatever. I’m happy and I really like my makeup.”

Camo goes on to explain how makeup can be transformative if you let it play around. You can look cute, you can look sexy, you can be both at the same time – all by reaching for different colors and trying different techniques. “I enjoy it so much,” she says.

Camo’s skincare regimen

At the end of the day, which can be 3am on tour for Camo, she washes off all of her makeup with an oil-based remover and Shiseido Senka Perfect Whip Cleansing Foam. Then she applies whatever moisturizer she has nearby – that’s it.

“I don’t really have a skincare routine,” she says. After growing up with pimples, her skin has now evened out and isn’t as sensitive as it used to be. It’s just a little dry so she puts lotion on and calls it a day.

But does that mean Camo complements minimalism with facials and laser treatments? nope Skin Booster Shots? Neither do they. She’d rather stick with that dual cleansing and moisturizing routine. Camo also tends to only wear makeup on specific occasions. “I usually don’t wear makeup when I’m with my friends,” shares Camo. “I only wear my makeup when I have a show or when I’m just hanging out with my friends and want to have pictures.” Relatable.

It’s in those no-makeup moments, says Camo, that she feels most in tune with herself. However, it wasn’t always like that. “People used to treat me so differently when I had makeup on and when I didn’t,” she says. “When I was in middle and high school, I tried my makeup, then I met people. That’s wrong. That is unhealthy.”

Around the age of 20, Camo realized that judging her looks tells more about how her character than hers. They’re not the kind of people she wants to interact with, so she just doesn’t. “Now that I don’t give a fuck, I’m confident in every form of myself,” explains Camo.
