Not a winter goes by without Samsung announce the renewal of its family of high-end smartphones. The South Korean company has already shared that, in this 2022, the date chosen for its Unpacked will be February 9 and, although the technology company -as usual- has not released a pledge about what it will specifically show, it does warn in the announcement that we will see the next Galaxy, the expected ones S22.
The event will start at 4:00 p.m. in mainland Spain and, as usual in these current pandemic times, it will be in fully digital format. Also as we are used to, in recent months a large amount of information about the terminals has been shared
that, although it is not official, it serves to get a more or less approximate idea of what we can expect on February 9. We are going to collect everything you have to take into account in case, at this point, you are already thinking of scratching your pocket to acquire one of the future members of the flagship.
models and prices
In principle, everything indicates that the trio will be made up of three terminals, exactly the same as the present S21. The names would be Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra -the most powerful of all-, S22 + and S22 ‘dry’. According to the well-known leaker
Roland Quandt, the prices for the European market will be next. They vary depending on the model and storage.
Samsung Galaxy S22 with 8GB/128GB: 849 euros
Samsung Galaxy S22 with 8GB/256GB: 899 euros
Samsung Galaxy S22+ with 8GB/128GB: 1,049 euros
Samsung Galaxy S22+ with 8GB/256GB: 1,099 euros
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra con 8GB/128GB: 1.249 euros
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra con 12GB/256GB: 1.349 euros
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra con 12GB/512GB: 1.449 euros
Sizes will obviously also vary between terminals. If we take the dimensions of the current family as a reference, the S22 Ultra will move at 6.81 inches, the S22 + at 6.55 and the basic model at 6.06.
Will they have 5G?
Samsung is one of the companies that has made the strongest commitment to promoting 5G. The South Korean firm has been launching terminals compatible with the new network since 2019 and it would be extremely strange if its new high-end did not have this connectivity. Normally, they are all compatible with 5G.
How will they be?
Regarding the design of the terminal, it is expected to be conservative, although they are expected to be somewhat more stylized and have more curved edges, at least in the case of the most advanced mobile. Most of the changes, however, will be seen, according to the leaks, on the back of the phones. The module that collects the cameras of the Ultra model will change, according to the ‘renders’ shared by specialized media such as ‘OnLeaks’ and ‘Digit’, in addition, it will include a tab to incorporate the S Pen, the digital pen developed by Samsung. Meanwhile, the rest of the ‘smartphones’ would move in line with what was seen in the previous ‘smartphones’.
Regarding the materials, they are also expected to be the same as in the S21. Specifically, plastic for the most basic models, while the S22 Ultra would once again be covered with protective glass. At ABC we know from our own experience that, regardless of the material, the ideal is to carry these terminals well protected with a case that is as robust as possible.

What will they be like inside?
As it happened with the S21, everything indicates that The Galaxy S22 will have different chips depending on the territory. For Europe, it is normal for them to come with the Exynos 2200, while for the rest of the world they would include one from Qualcomm. Be that as it may, the performance of the devices should be excellent. At the height of the best on the market.
Also, the basic models are expected to have 8 GB RAM, while the Ultra will include a 12 GB version. The internal storage will move between 128 GB and 256. The most point, in addition, would have a version of 512.
And the cameras?
Regarding the cameras, there are many doubts in the pipeline. Some leaks suggest that the Ultra could include a 200 MP main sensor, was recently introduced by Samsung. Others point out that, finally, it would stay at 108 MP. On the other hand, the most basic models would sport a 50 MP lens. They would also include a telephoto and a wide angle and the front for the ‘selfies’.
Regarding the recording, they are expected to be able to capture video in 8K quality.
