Beyoncé on the ‘Renaissance’ tour: the singer relied on club couture creations for her first show

Unique: This is the best way to describe Beyoncé’s fashion repertoire for her “Renaissance” tour, which kicked off Wednesday in Stockholm. Already on the first leg of her 57 shows around the world, the singer showed up in an extravagant selection of club couture creations.

So far, Beyoncé has relied on these designers on the “Renaissance” tour.

The play with light and color was dominant: several outfits were holographic or reflective, masterfully translating the album’s visual aesthetic into the stadium environment. Beyoncé was off the road for nearly five years, but she still proved to be an outstanding entertainer, even when it came to her on-stage appearance. For example, a dress changed color when exposed to UV light. Fans quickly guessed that the creation was by Japanese brand Anrealage, which elicited a similar element of surprise in their viral Fall/Winter 2023/2024 show. A bejeweled Loewe-designed bodysuit designed by Jonathan Anderson and modeled after a look from the label’s Fall/Winter 2022/2023 collection, itself featured multiple pairs of provocatively positioned arms with red fingernails. It was reminiscent of another form-fitting design from The Blondes that Beyoncé wore on her 2013 tour.

Beyoncé has already worn these custom-made products at the “Renaissance” show.

A custom Balmain piece designed by Olivier Rousteing also featured a corset made entirely of pearls. This fresh look is based on the same codes used in this season’s couture collaboration between Olivier Rousteing and Beyoncé. (Surprisingly, none of these one-offs appeared on the Stockholm show, but of course there would be 56 more stops on their world tour). London-based designer David Koma, who created a yellow tennis ball gown for the singer, has now designed her a holographic wrap dress.

Beyoncé opened her “Renaissance” tour with these accessories

The most beautiful accessory of the evening? Undoubtedly the massive Studio 54-style sequined horse that Beyoncé rode to her show’s finale. Mugler’s spring 1997-inspired headpiece, which she wore with a Casey Cadwallader leotard, was a close second.
