In summer 2023, preppy loafers will replace open-toe sandals for It-Girls

Sure, there’s a certain “back to school” vibe about them that’s typically associated with fall attire, but this summer, preppy loafers are giving it a go with the open-toe sandal — arguably this season’s most popular shoe – a serious competition in the haute couture fashion Week in Paris, numerous visitors have already combined their mini-skirts with sturdy ballet flats.

That’s why It girls are opting for preppy loafers in the summer of 2023

What is perhaps the coolest thing about moccasins? It’s so incredibly simple that it goes with almost any outfit. A minimalist pair, without frills or embellishments, grounds even the most playful look. This summer, Hailey Bieber also wears her Eytys ‘Rio’ loafers with a boxy shape, flat heel and subtle tassel detail. The model prefers to wear them with white socks, a choice that is as practical as it is aesthetic in high temperatures.

Here’s how Hailey Bieber & Co. are combining their loafers this summer

Hailey Bieber has already chosen her loafers with jorts, miniskirts, tailored trousers and crop tops – only on the beach did she manage to do without the new trendy shoe. Even Kendall Jenner lives in her classic moccasins this summer: she has been spotted several times in a pair by The Row. For her signature pantless look, she recently in New York paired barely-there white hot pants with a baseball cap, button-down shirt, and her black leather loafers.

Loafers give every look for summer 2023 that extra touch

Loafers and white socks are the perfect companions to smarter summer ensembles: the ensemble was seen with a striped midi dress on a visitor, while Yasmin Finney styled it with knit shorts by Ralph Lauren along with a breezy bustier at Wimbledon worn. The new trendy shoes give an instant masculine edge to a printed summer dress and are the perfect balance for a micro mini – or a completely no (visible) pant look.
