And suddenly autumn came – well, not yet. Weather-wise, we still have summer into early September, but the weather doesn’t seem to have mattered in recent weeks. A first taste of the rainy and cooler days of autumn – and thus also of the imminent change in our wardrobe.
And while summer can definitely still score with a few sunny days, we’re already gearing up for stylish fall, especially when it comes to our shoe choice. Because as much as we love slingbacks, flats and Birkenstocks in the summer, no shoe comes close to our all-rounder, which we can wear (almost) all year round: the sneaker.
In autumn it not only becomes more robust, but also a little more colourful. Instead of the classic white, beige or cream sneakers, you should opt for the colorful variant in autumn 2023. How do we know this? Supermodels and street style stars show how it’s done.

Hailey Bieber, who seems to have an unerring eye for sneaker trends, has already started swapping out white sneaker designs for red, yellow or green kicks later in the year. Fellow model Bella Hadid already chose cobalt blue as the trend color for sneakers last fall. And we’ve also seen actress Jennifer Lawrence wearing purple and green Adidas “Samba” and “Gazelle” in recent months.
Don’t get us wrong, the white sneaker will forever remain an absolute classic in the shoe closet because it simply goes with everything. But for all those who like things a little more exciting and colorful in autumn (perhaps to give themselves a trendy mood boost), sneakers with colorful accents might be just the thing.
Some recent examples? Among others, the singer Billie Eilish. She launched a new collection with Nike earlier this week and presented the “Alpha Air Force Low” with red and black details. And Ganni also showed off the result of the recent collaboration with New Balance at Copenhagen Fashion Week, which consisted of neon yellow sneakers.
