DDoS attacks: Government portal not affected
Overload attacks took down the websites of departments and various offices on Wednesday this week. The Swiss government operates the information portal www.admin.ch, which was not affected.
The pro-Russian cyber gang NoName then claimed responsibility for the DDoS attacks and cited “the participation of Ukrainian President Zelensky in the World Economic Forum currently taking place in Davos” as the reason for the DDoS attack. The Federal Office for Cyber Security had expected such attacks in the run-up to the visit of the Ukrainian president and on January 10 warned the operators of critical infrastructure (KRITIS) and called on them to take countermeasures. BACS analyzes such attacks and contributes to the implementation of measures; is in contact with KRITIS operators and national and international partners.
