Summer is coming and there are many Spaniards who want to travel to other regions and visit their relatives. Although all regions are currently open, the sanitary restrictions, as far as the epidemiological situation is concerned, vary by destination.
Which destinations require a PCR from travelers? Can we catch a plane to the islands without having to submit a negative test? Depends on the situation in which the Spanish tourist is.
To travel to the Canary and Balearic Islands, Spanish tourists are required not vaccinated or from communities with an incidence greater than 60 cases in 14 days, a negative test prior to arrival.
Instead, no PCR or antigen test will be required to those national travelers who have passed the coronavirus or have received the Covid-19 vaccine at least 15 days before the trip, as well as tourists who come from an autonomous community with a cumulative incidence of less than 60 cases for each 14 days 100,000 inhabitants, despite not being vaccinated.
In the event that travelers entering the Balearic Islands do not present any of these tests, they will be exposed to a economic sanction according to current regulations.
As for the rest of Spanish destinations, no No type of Covid proof will be required. It is important to remember that although travel by boat, bus and train does not require specific tests, it is mandatory to comply with sanitary measures.
Tourist vouchers by communities
There are many autonomous communities that offer great discounts in order to recover the tourism sector. Aragon, Andalusia, the Community of Madrid, Extremadura, the Basque Country, among others, have joined this initiative that favors travelers when paying for their accommodation, restaurants or other leisure activities.
