There are countless reasons J Lo is an international star – including but not limited to her powerful voice, acting skills, glowing skin and some seriously beautiful hair. Now comes the story behind her hustle to Netflix halftime, a documentary centered around her famous Super Bowl halftime performance. In a recent Instagram post on Wednesday, May 18, the star gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the doc, which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival before it hits TV on June 14.
During the Sizzle role, we get a glimpse of J.Lo’s life in public, along with the blood, sweat, tears and texturizing spray that goes into rehearsals for her vocal performances and screen roles. “Being a great performer means being aware,” she says, rocking the first of many messy buns she rocks during the two-and-a-half minute trailer. Unlike the picture perfect (read: not a stray hair in sight) updos we constantly see on Lopez, her look in these moments offers an up close and personal look at the imperfect reality of her life and career.
“I really feel like my life is just beginning,” says J.Lo, and given her recently reignited love affair with boyfriend Ben Affleck, I can’t wait to see what’s next for her. After launching her skincare brand J.Lo Beauty and the blockbuster rom-com Marry meI’m optimistic that there are still many premieres and firsts to come for the Hollywood mogul.
