An excellent day for the Olympic Team crews in the waters of Vilamoura, where the Finn European Championship and the 470 Warm Up are taking place, the first training regatta of those scheduled as a prelude to the European class.
In the Finn European Championship, Joan Cardona today boasted an excellent navigation, with two good starts that culminated in two first places. This leads him to occupy the first place in the provisional classification, six points behind the Hungarian Zsombor Berecz.
In an immense regatta field, with the same format as in the World Cup where the Olympic square will be played, and in which going well and in the right place is vital, Alejandro Muscat has not suffered the same luck and with a 22-25 it ranks 29th. Wind conditions were somewhat better today yesterday, with 9-11 knots of wind.
Penultimate day in the 470 Warm Up Vilamoura at Jordi Xammar and Nicolás Rodríguez recover the leadership position after signing a 2-3 today. The Spanish will face the final tests tomorrow with a 13-point advantage over the French Peponnet / Mion.
The female crew of Silvia Mas and Patricia Cantero did not participate in this training regatta today and will not do so tomorrow as they have planned a break in competition before continuing with their training program and equipment test for the continental event.
