Bad news for Lance Armstrong, the cyclist defeated by the investigations of the American anti-doping authorities. Luke Armstrong, her oldest son, was arrested in Texas for a sexual assault on a girl, according to an Austin police affidavit.

According to Cyclingnews.com, the affidavit says that three years ago, Luke sexually assaulted a 16-year-old after a party in Austin. The girl reported the incident in November 2020 and told police that she had asked Armstrong to pick her up from the party, where she had been drinking.

The victim told police that she could not remember the trip with Armstrong in his truck and only remembered waking up on a couch at Armstrong’s father’s house and having been sexually assaulted.

Armstrong admitted to having consensual sex with the girl at her father’s home in Austin during a phone call in December 2020.

“What happened three years ago in high school was not a crime and it was not a sexual assault,” said Armstrong’s attorney, Randy Leavitt. «It was a consensual relationship then and continued consensual between two young people and, ultimately, both went their separate ways. These charges should not have been filed and certainly not three years later.
