Carlos Núñez has been appointed new executive president of the Media area (El País, Cadena Ser …) of the Prisa Group by the board of directors. Likewise, this body proposes, with a view to the next general meeting of shareholders, their integration as director. He will take office on May 24.
Joseph Oughourlian, president of Prisa, has highlighted the trajectory of Nunez during the last six years in the Henneo Group, «betting on the development of new business models based on technology, with integral media and content management platforms».
The new president of Media The group will focus on “enhancing the global reach of products and brands, on the development of digital platforms and their impact on the way of working, operational culture and talent,” as reported by Prisa.
With this appointment, the media group completes the new organization started months ago. In March, the board of directors unleashed the operational separation of the Education areas, in charge of which it put Manuel Mirat, and Media, which Núñez now assumes. “The board of directors of Prisa understands that with this new organizational chart a greater focus will be obtained from the executive teams and a better execution capacity in the respective business plans”, the company has indicated.
