The livestock sector has promoted the creation of the ‘municipal livestock-meat network’, an initiative that aims to promote the development of rural Spain linked to this activity. Six sector organizations (Asici, Intercun, Interovic, Interporc y Provacuno) have partnered to create this project, which aims to involve about 30 municipalities.

The President of Interovic, Raúl Muñiz, highlights that this project seeks to “give visibility” to these population centers where livestock and meat production are a fundamental part of the local economy. Furthermore, Muñiz considers the network a “reference group” to participate in future economic policies, such as European aid.
