The architecture studio of Mar Vicens (Valencia, 1985) is in his hometown. But, as his family always did, part of his life is spent in Mallorca. In Soller His grandfather was born, an exporter of oranges, married to a woman from Madrid who always sought a wilder place than the coast, for her perhaps excessively civilized. Thus they came to Deià, where then there was no water or electricity, a paradise for children’s games. That passion for the island and the countryside passed from generation to generation as an inheritance that was impossible to renounce.
Mallorca was also the place of recreation several months a year for Mar’s parents, and, therefore, for her childhood.
