The network is full of threats. From scams in which public institutions are impersonated, to applications that hide malicious purposes. The cybersecurity company Check Point has alerted about a new type of ‘malware’ (computer virus) that they have discovered lodged in an application of the official Android store, Google Play Store. The malicious ‘app’, which has already been removed from the platform, posed as Netflix to infect WhatsApp accounts. The software has the ability to steal data from the infected user and spread through your account in the messaging application attacking via automatic responses to the victim’s contacts.
