The temporary messages They are available for all conversations on WhatsApp for a few months. It is an option that the user can activate and that if he does so, the messages sent in the conversation will be deleted automatically. Although it will take seven days for that to happen.

The new possibility of scheduling the disappearance of messages in 24 hours, as it has shared on its specialized portal for information on WhatsApp WABetaInfo, will complement the current one that allows one week. So, as soon as the function is available, the user who wants to schedule the deletion of a message can choose between either of the two options.

By this option, if the user activates the temporary messages in a chat, he will be able to choose if he wants the new messages to disappear one day after they are sent or after a week. It should be remembered that, according to past leaks, this functionality will also be available in group chats. However, in these types of conversations it will be the administrators who will have to give consent for their use.

The option is currently under development, but that will reach users in a future update of the application for iOS and Android and the desktop version. According to past leaks, the Facebook-owned messaging app is also working on the possibility of use the same account on different devices. Likewise, it would be trying to expand the functionality that allows programming the disappearance of messages to be able to establish the self-destruction of images and videos at the moment in which the receiver opens them.
