Which countries can travel to Spain






The summer holidays are approaching and there are many foreigners who choose as their destination country Spain. Unlike the previous one, during this summer travel will be easier thanks to the so-called ‘Covid passport’. This certificate, which was approved in our country last Monday in advance of its entry into force on July 1, has the objective of facilitate free movement within the countries of the European Union.

But, which are the countries that can travel to Spain? We’ll tell you then.

Since last Monday, June 7, Spain has allowed the entry of tourists that they prove be immunized against Covid-19 from third countries to the European Union and Schengen associated countries, except India, Brazil and South Africa.

This is reflected in an order published last Saturday in the Official State Gazette (BOE) by which the criteria for the application of the temporary restriction of non-essential trips from third countries to the European Union and countries associated with Schengen for reasons of public order and public health due to the health crisis caused by Covid-19.

It is important to remember that this ‘European Covid Digital Certificate’ will be valid in all member states of the European Union and will also be accepted in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland

From which countries can you come to Spain?

All foreign tourists who prove that they are immunized with the vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Right now, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen. All those vaccinated with the doses of Sinopharm y Sinovac-Coronavac, approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), as long as the vaccination has been carried out at least 14 days before arrival.

Likewise, the European authorities have informed that passengers who demonstrate that they are have recovered from the disease. ANDn some cases may be required negative coronavirus tests in the last 48 hours.

Children under 6 years of age are exempt from presenting the certificate, although they must have the QR code obtained after completing the sanitary control form.

The sanitary restrictions as far as the situation is concerned, vary according to the destination. With mandatory quarantine of 10 days there is only India, but there is also aa limitation to travel from Brazil or South Africa which, in practice, excludes them from entering Spain despite being vaccinated.
