FC Bayern announced the signing of the Croatian on Wednesday afternoon, who celebrated his 16th birthday on the same day. According to a club statement, the youngster has signed a long-term contract with the record champions.
“Ljubo is a strong tackling defender with a balanced head. He has a great mentality and always gives everything to his team on the pitch,” said FC Bayern Campus sporting director Halil Altintop of the signing.
“He also has great character. We are very pleased that our scouting team around team planner Florian Zahn was able to implement this change with a lot of emphasis and that Ljubo is moving to the campus,” he added.

As “Goal” reports, Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested in the teenager’s transfer. But top European players such as Juventus Turin and FC Barcelona were also interested in the 16-year-old.
Puljic already U17 national team
Before moving to Monaco, Puljic played for NK Osijek for five years. Puljic was also active for the junior national teams.
At 15, he was already allowed to compete regularly for the Croatian U17 team. At the Under-17 European Championship in Hungary he was part of the regular squad and even put his name on his team’s top scorer list.
Now Puljic should prove his talents with the German record champions.
