Wedding in Paris: Clara Cornet has chosen exclusively French designers for her three dresses

Clara Cornet and Luca Pronzato met at one of her pop-up rooftop restaurants in Paris in early 2019. Luca Pronzato, founder of the culinary collective We Are Ona, first noticed Clara Cornet – Instagram’s Head of Fashion Partnerships for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa – because of her shoes: sky-high stilettos that, while perfect for the shows she attended the day before, must surely be a burden at the time of the night. “I was wearing heels; it was Paris Fashion Week. He offered to wear his shoes — he just took off his Birkenstocks and gave them to me so I could get really comfortable,” Clara Cornet explains of her reverse Cinderella moment. And the rest? it’s history.

Clara Cornet wore a dress by the French designer for the civil wedding

Almost four years later, on July 8, 2023, they got married in a civil ceremony in the town hall. As you would expect from a French woman, Clara Cornet wore a classic white tweed dress by Virginie Viard for Chanel, paired with a necklace, earrings and rings by Sophie Bille Brahe. Luca Pronzato, on the other hand, chose a double-breasted Fursac pinstripe from the menswear outfitter and vintage lover Gauthier Borsarello. Their two-and-a-half-year-old son, Leo, was also dressed for the occasion in a white Bonpoint suit which Clara Cornet describes as ‘downright adorable’. He also brought a small bouquet of lavender to her parents’ wedding.

A second ceremony was held the next day along with a second reception at Le Doyenné, a restaurant in St Vrain run by his friends Shaun Kelly and James Edward Henry. He has already obtained a green Michelin star; the ingredients all come from the large garden. Luca Pronzato’s event production company and the We Are Ona team collaborated as wedding planners: “We wanted to include all of our friends and are very grateful to be surrounded by so many talented companions from different fields who supported us throughout our honeymoon,” says the bride.

Clara Cornet shares such a close bond with French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus

For the occasion, Clara Cornet opted for another dress by a French designer and her confidant: “I knew I wanted to wear a design by my longtime friend Simon Porte Jacquemus. I chose a flowing, backless, boxy-fit silk dress from the new ‘Chouchou’ collection that was presented at Versailles just a week earlier,” she says. In it, Clara Cornet crossed the garden of Le Doyenné, where Luca Pronzato was waiting for her in a classic white fursac tuxedo. After the vows, Leo (in a Bode shirt) finally put rings on his parents’ fingers. The bride describes the moment as “very serene”.
