During half-time, Bellingham complained loudly to referee Jose Hernandez Maeso about a foul on him that went unpunished.
The referee admitted his mistake, but that didn’t necessarily make the young man any happier.
“I don’t give a damn if they agree with me, do I? Same shit every week,” Bellingham complained.
At half-time, the “Royals” were 0-2 behind the bottom of the table in their own stadium. So it’s no wonder that Bellingham’s nerves were on edge.

However, the big favorite turned the match around with the help of the referee. He had made some questionable decisions.
Hernandez Maeso initially “gave” a penalty to the hosts, after an alleged handball by Almeria’s Kaiky had preceded everything. Bellingham converted the somewhat lucky penalty into a goal.
The presumed 3-1 of the guests was canceled even after the video evidence: in the end, Vinícius Júnior’s equalizer counted, even if the Brazilian scored with his arm.
No wonder Almería defender Marc Pubill complained afterwards: “We go home with the feeling that they stole the game from us, that’s clear.” Bellingham, however, was probably happy again after the final whistle.
