Fashion during pregnancy: this is how fashion buyer Charlotte Kraska remains faithful to her style, even in the ninth month

Balance in outfits is important to me and this is how I style myself and others every day. For example, I would always wear a sweatshirt look with loafers or ballet flats instead of sneakers, or a leggings look with a blazer instead of a comfortable cardigan. These little outfit separates work really well during pregnancy too.

What has been particularly important to you in terms of outfits in the last few months?

With this second pregnancy the last few months have become very comfortable and practical. Between moving, renovating and baby number one, priorities have changed. For me, the quality of the welcoming appearance was particularly important. No baggy pants, no lint on the sweater, a good selection of coats and jackets.

Very few women always think they are beautiful. What was your body image journey like during pregnancy? How have moods influenced your outfits?

I experienced two relatively different pregnancies. I actually felt really good and beautiful the entire time I was with my son. The glow was amazing, I was filled with power. With my second pregnancy I simply had much less time to take care of myself and I was immediately more sensitive to clothing that was too tight and I could do less physical activity. I took advantage of the opportunities and really enjoyed making my belly sexy. But tired weekdays when I didn’t feel like myself were evident in my all-black look of leggings, cashmere sweater, and cowboy boots.

I would say there are definitely times in every pregnancy where you feel annoyed or overwhelmed by your body and don’t feel like dressing up. How did you experience it?

Oh yes, the last few weeks have been boring and unimaginative. For the first time I experienced firsthand that feeling good about your body is so important as a basis for having fun with fashion and styling. I expect a radical arrangement in the spring. I definitely need to freshen up my wardrobe a bit: some new favorite basics, some trendy highlights, a trip to the hairdresser.

Which essential items are really worth buying in early pregnancy?

A nice oversized shirt, preferably striped or checked, leggings from The Mama Set, shoes half a size bigger (boots or sandals, depending on the season, which are a bit in fashion), a tight stretch dress, for example from Skims, cardigans (there you may get a different feeling of warmth) – for example, Khaite’s “Scarlet Cardigan” looks adorable with a baby bump.
